Coming soon to Newark-on-Trent, Vibrant Matter is a new contemporary visual art gallery, working with a range of established artists who explore the material conditions of their chosen media, with a particular focus on experimental photography.
Our gallery shop will carry a range of beautiful artist books, print editions, ceramics and a curated selection of designer gifts.
With over 20 years picture framing experience in the art world, we provide a bespoke picture framing service, offering frames for a range of budgets, up to and including the finest museum standards, hand-built with quality materials and meticulous attention to detail.
We will also offer an exciting range of creative workshops for local and surrounding residents, delivered by skilled and experienced artists and educators, ranging from photography to bookmaking.

Who is Vibrant Matter?
Vibrant Matter director, Daniel Rapley, has been an artist for over 25 years and has exhibited his work across the UK, USA, China, Italy, Netherlands and France. His first artist book was published by art publisher, Beam Editions in 2024. He began picture framing whilst living in London over 20 years ago, working with many prominent artists, high end art galleries and other clients including The Fine Art Society, Annely Juda Fine Art, The 100 Club and Disney. For the last 10 years Daniel has worked across HE and FE educational sectors as an art & photography lecturer. He currently works part-time at Lincoln College, where he runs an Art & Design Foundation Diploma.
